Data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers shows that in September this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 879,000 and 904,000 respectively, a month-on-month increase of 4.3% and 6.8% respectively, a year-on-year increase of 16.1% and 27.7%, respectively, and a market share of 31.6%. Among them, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles in the domestic market in September were 808,000, a month-on-month increase of 6.9%, and a year-on-year increase of 22.8%; the overseas market exported 96,000 new energy vehicles, a month-on-month increase of 6.5%, a year-on-year increase of 92.8%.
From January to September this year, the cumulative production and sales of new energy vehicles have reached 6.313 million units and 6.278 million units, a year-on-year increase of 33.7% and 37.5% respectively, with a market share of 29.8%. In the first three quarters, domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 5.453 million units, a year-on-year increase of 30.5%; exports were 825,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times.
Judging from the varieties of new energy vehicles in September, the output of pure electric vehicles increased slightly by 1.5% year-on-year, and sales increased by 16.2% year-on-year. The production and sales of hybrid vehicles increased by 64.1% and 64.4% respectively in September, while the production and sales data of fuel cell vehicles decreased compared with the same period last year.
In terms of new energy passenger vehicles, except for the year-on-year sales decline of models below 80,000 yuan and the A00 class, other classes of models all showed positive growth. From January to September this year, sales of new energy passenger vehicles were still mainly concentrated in the A-class, with cumulative sales of 2.361 million units, a year-on-year increase of 49.8%.
Looking at price ranges, from January to September this year, among new energy passenger cars, sales of 80,000 yuan to 250,000 yuan and above 300,000 yuan showed positive year-on-year growth, with 350,000 yuan to 400,000 yuan showing the largest increase.
In order to promote the steady growth of the automobile industry, seven departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have jointly issued the "Work Plan for Stable Growth of the Automobile Industry (2023-2024)". The plan states that in 2023, we will strive to achieve annual vehicle sales of about 27 million units, a year-on-year increase of about 3%, of which new energy vehicle sales will reach about 9 million units, a year-on-year increase of about 30%.
